The 4.3-inch wide screen display is bright and beautiful, and works well under many different lighting conditions. If you prefer, you can also connect your PSP to your TV. The PSP utilizes the Universal Media Disc (UMD) for a storage medium, each of which holds 1.8 GB of data.

Whether you are seeking the hard hits of football or the strategy of a puzzle game, there's sure to be many games for you. Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters Game Included
With this Limited Edition set, you'll get to play Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters right out of the box. A combination of a platformer and shooter, Size Matters delivers the over-the-top humor and fun that the series has come to be known for.

As is Ratchet and Clank's hallmark, the game features large cache of weapons, each of which can be upgraded to become larger and stronger. It's the sheer wackiness of the weapons that makes the game so much fun: among the many weapons at your disposal, you'll have the option of wielding a shotgun, a pistol that shoots killer bees, and a gun that shoots out robots.

The game makes full use of the PSP hardware and incorporates multiple lighting and particle effects without any slowdown in gameplay.

With this Limited Edition Entertainment Pack, you won't be lacking in entertainment options when you're on the run. In fact, you might actually start looking forward to your long commute.

What's in the Box:
PSP-3000, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters UMD game, National Treasure 2 UMD movie, 1GB Memory Stick Duo, PlayStation Network game download voucher for echochrome.

5 out of 5 stars PSP 3000, the next step in PSP Dominance   October 14, 2008
60 out of 67 found this review helpful

So this is the 3rd iteration for the Playstation Portable.
I've personally experienced the first 2, selling my original PSP Phat for the PSP Slim (2000).
I've done the same again and sold my slim and bought the 3000.

The improvements over the PSP 2000, are a improved LCD screen which I must say is pretty improved, and a built in Microphone. (Finally I can make use of the skype feature as well as chat online in psp games.)

So is this a justifiable upgrade? For the improvements not really.
But if you're in the market for a PSP right now... The PSP 3000 is an ideal step into the PSP World.

Also following up the PSP 3000's launch is the Firmware 5.00 which brings Playstation Store (found on PS3) to the PSP.
But this firmware will be hitting all iterations of PSP.

So...Great purchase for me...Hope all of you here on Amazon do the same :)

5 out of 5 stars A brilliant screen, don't worry about the scan lines.   November 11, 2008

The first thing I would like to say is that the scan lines are not nearly as big of an issue as others make them out to be. I have only noticed them slightly, and they are completely overlooked when comparing the overall quality of this new screen. It is brighter, has a higher contrast ratio to display more vivid colors, and ghosting is no more.

The included games Ratchet and Clank and Echochrome are both terrific in their own respect, but I have to hand it to Echochrome. It is a brilliantly done puzzle game that is as beautifully presented as it is mind-bending.

I highly recommend this unit if you have a PS3 because of the remote play capabilities. Being able to stream video, music, and pictures wirelessly is a dream. And now Sony is offering their Media Manager as a free download it is a breeze to add your own music and media right to the 1gb memory stick provided.

The best part about owning a PSP is that most games that you really want are now around $20, so you can beef up your library for cheap.

All in all I love the PSP 3000, do not let the worries of the scan lines scare you away.

5 out of 5 stars PSP better than 2000   November 7, 2008
12 out of 13 found this review helpful

I've had mine now for 4 days. The pictue quality is much improved. The screen is quicker and brighter with deeper richer colors. I have owned every incarnation of the PSP and this is my favorite. When I played a the 2001 I noticed that fast moving objects caused blurring like many older model LCD display. The 3001 does not, its always clear and the screen looks fantatasitc now using a wider color gambit than the older models. I don't have an opinion on the built in mic because I have yet to use it. But I suppose it's better than not having one. I'm really impressed with the many improvments sony has made for the PSP software wise as well. The PSN store is a great improvment also now "remote play" will power on your PS3 via internet or LAN.

5 out of 5 stars Great color and picture   November 19, 2008
7 out of 7 found this review helpful

I upgraded from the 2000 series and i'm happy I did, I like the feel of this better, also the silver color is nice and the new look is cool. The actual picture is a very big step up, it's like having a portable hd tv almost it's so nice. The picture color was the first thing I noticed, the reds stood out it hit me like a ton of bricks, the darks are DARK! the lights are LIGHT! If you just buy the psp to watch movies you will get your monies worth with the 3000.
There have been talk of the lines in the picture due to the higher refresh rate but I couldn't even see them, then I put it up close to my face and could barely see tiny lines, it makes no difference at all, and you will never notice them unless you actualy try.... hard. I think it is a fantastic purchase, like I said if you need a portable movie player, the picture on this is unbeatable... the iphone or anything can't even touch this. But lets not forget about the games, they are bigger and better in my opinion because of the umd disc that allows for larger games, I reccomend patapon, god of war, crisis core, jean d'arc, ratchet and clank .... This is a good purchase and would make an excellent gift for anyone who loves games or gadgets.

5 out of 5 stars 3000-- No questions   November 8, 2008
7 out of 8 found this review helpful

I originally bought a phat, but when it broke only played my friends 2000. I just bought the three thousand. Not only was it lighter and thinner, but the quality of the sound and the more grainy feel of the face plate totally **changed my gaming experience**! The graininess of the face plate makes for a better grip and also eliminates smudge marks. I would rate this product ten out of five stars**********!

The Nintendo Wii goes on sale on Sunday, November 19. Thanks to the inclusion of the simple--but infectiously fun--Wii Sports game, the Wii is the first console in recent memory that lets you have fun straight out of the box. Still, there are a few key Wii accessories you'll want to pick up to maximize your Wii experience--especially if you're buying it as a gift.

Extra controllers: Like all recent consoles, the Wii ships with just a single controller (well, one two-part controller: one Wiimote, plus one nunchuk). But the real fun of the system is playing the head-to-head Wii Sports games such as tennis and boxing. To do so, you'll need at least one extra set of controllers--and again, that's one Wiimote ($28.99) plus one nunchuk ($12.99). The Wii supports as many as four, but just the one extra controller set should suffice--at least for Christmas morning.

Rechargeable batteries: The Wiimote takes two standard AA batteries. They're included--with the Wii, and with the sold-separately version of the controller mentioned above--but avid players may find the juice draining pretty quickly, especially if they keep the nunchuk attached (it draws its power from the Wiimote). Instead of buying an endless stream of costly AAs, consider investing in a set of rechargeables. You can score a charger and four rechargeable nickel-metal-hydride batteries for less than $25.

GameCube controllers: The Wii is fully backwards compatible with the Nintendo GameCube, but there's a catch: to play the GameCube games, you'll need a GameCube controller ($15.99). You can even go wireless with the Nintendo WaveBird ($59.99). If you already have a GameCube, your existing controllers will work just fine--just plug them in to one of the four ports underneath the flip-up panel on the Wii's topside. GameCube controllers should also work with the Wii's "Virtual Console" games--which saves you the trouble of having to buy a Classic Controller.

GameCube memory cards: One other annoyance when playing GameCube games: your progress can only be saved to GameCube memory cards, not to the Wii's internal memory or to an SD card (we're hoping Nintendo fixes this with a future firmware update). Like the controllers, your old GC cards will work just fine--there are two slots right next to the GameCube controller ports. If you don't have any onhand (and you want to save your games on GC titles), you'll need to spring for a $26.90 (2GB) memory card.

Wii Points: One of the big attactions of the Wii is its Virtual Console, which lets you purchase classic games that originally came from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), the Super NES, the Nintendo 64, the Sega Genesis, and the TurboGrafx16. By the end of 2006, at least 30 titles should be available, including Donkey Kong (NES), Super Mario 64 (N64), and Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis). To purchase the downloadable titles, you'll need to use a Nintendo currency known as Wii Points (similar to the Microsoft Points on Xbox Live), which currently have an exchange rate of 100 points per U.S. dollar. You can buy Wii Points directly through the console's online store, or use prepaid cards (2000 Wii Points) available in various denominations.

SD card: If you're close to filling the Wii's built-in 512MB of storage with your Virtual Console games, you can always expand your available space with an SD card. Nintendo sells its own, but any run-of-the-mill card will do. Fairly spacious 1GB cards are available for less than $20--even less with mail-in rebates--and they'll work in plenty of other gadgets as well.

Wireless access point: In addition to the downloadable Virtual Console games, the Wii offers online "channels," including news, weather, and even an Opera Web browser (head-to-head online gaming is said to be coming sometime in 2007). You can get online for free via the Wii's built-in Wi-Fi. To do so, of course, you'll need a nearby wireless access point or router. Alternately, you can plug the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector into any nearby PC on a wired network, and the Wii--plus your Nintendo DS--will be able to use it to get online instead.

Component video adapter: The Wii doesn't have the graphical horsepower to handle high-def graphics, but it can do DVD-level 480p video, which will look considerably better on large HDTVs. To see the Wii's games in 480p, you'll need Nintendo's proprietary component video adapter, which should run about $20.
